Future Plan

Dissemination of General and Technical Information

Disseminate general and technical information to the public and industries with regard to the engineered wood processing and products. The information are compile in books, pamphlets, brochures, technical papers and etc.

Industrial Training

This centre will become a platform for industrial training. Industrial training, where a student undertakes a period of training with an organization usually during a semester break, plays an important role in preparing the student for a professional career. From the hands-on training, the student learns about the skill sets required, demands of the industry and also work ethics. At the same time it gives the student an opportunity to put into practice what he or she has learned at university.

CLT Housing

Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is original ideas that came out of research into finding better uses for the outer layers of logs. The main benefits of CLT in the construction include; good thermal properties, reduced construction time, improved accuracy and quality, reduced CO2 emissions, low weight, relocation of high-risk activities to a controlled factory environment, and reduced impacts on local areas during construction. The research aims to produce or design the CLT for house construction, such as walls, flooring, rooftop, and other functions. Then, the product’s physical, mechanical, and strength will be determined according to the established standard.
